Same reason Shoppers sells milk & groceries these days. Add another category and it may pay off. Similar to Tim Horton's not just selling donuts and coffee anymore.

People are tired of dealing with the morons that work there. So they need a rest.

Same reason any store sells any item?....make money? There is also massive markup in any type of furniture.

Bigger profit margins than what they get for electronics. iPods are atmost 8% markup and it is set by Apple. I'm sure the profit margins are better than appliances and then again why not make it a one stop shop?
Who buys/rents a place and doesn't need a bed or some electronics?_______________

Looks like Best Buy is trying new strategies. Not sure why anyone would buy a bed or matress online without even seeing the product or trying it out firsthand.

Yeah, stores like the Brick and Leons sells furniture too and often bundle cheap TVs with mattress sales so I guess it's a logical progression for BB to implement the same types of packages.

To ensure their clients keep making more customers. Out here in Calgary heating is expensive...good way to save on heating bills and keep in shape. We wear out a lot of mattresses, so the cheaper, the better.
