Just because "everyone's getting one" doesn't mean the quality of the insitution doesn't matter. I mean, almost everyone has a car. It doesn't mean that a Neon and a Porsche are now equal, and only when you can afford your own personal jet does the quality of the vehicle matterOriginally Posted by 7jai
How do you think you get into a Master's program at a good school? Having an undergrad degree from a reputable place is a big help, plus since the undergrad program is better, you'll be more successful, on average, doing your Master's because you'll be so much better prepared.

Aug 15th, 2005 04:00 PM #16I hear thats good for BBA but other programs are more 'avg'. Specially their Math/CS ones..But its a small uni and since its a non-commute based uni, you will know almost everyone on campus and if you are a pimp DADDY!! lol you are set..

BF40: Gotta agree about the kickass time you have at keggers (and on Brick tours) in the summer.
(this year and last)
I graduated Hons. Economics and Accounting this spring.
Laurier undergrad is an awesome time, great school and a great community. If you want more specific details, i posted in another thread. I will move the comments here shortly.
Re: Laurier MBA, not too great, you get the same profs you had in your undergrad (if you went to Laurier) and it does not compare to Ivey/Rotman etc.
Still costs you at least $40k, but there are better schools out there.

didn't quite expect so many RFDer from laurier~
i like Laurier...the BBA program rocks!!!
I jux graduated this spring...one drawback is the name is not shiny enuf...internationally...I m gonna move back to HK and it seem likes most people there are quite familiar with names like UT, Queens, Ivey and York..but not so much of Laurier...
I must say that Laurier does have A LOT of choices when it comes to biz courses.....if you look at UT...they offer mostly Accounting and some finance...but not with Marketing, HR...and Laurier also has a very good Risk Management/Insurance Program...
However, the non-biz electives are kinda crappy...good things that we can cross-reg with UW and pick their courses~
and you reallie can't compare Laurier with UW...I think we are more complementary than competitive~~~we have the biz program (we kinda 'share' the biz program with UW...I believe they don't really have a business program there), they offer the math (I took my MA130 with a UW prof at Laurier and it was a UW credit)...we also have joint-programs together... I alway look at the two Us as sister U rather than competition~
btw, anyone need some furnitures/back-to-school items? I have a lot of stuffs~~~~PM me for detail~

forgot to mention
i didn't like the co-op program...I was in it in second year but I dropped out...since I wasn't the brightest student with best grades...it was very difficult for me to compete with other BBA students for those great jobs....it was very hard to grant an interview (for me at least)...and I really didn't wanna settle for weird jobs...
