Will a convertible tablet running Win 7 be Win 8 Touch Screen capable too?

The OS that came with is a Windows 7 so would it be safe to assume that it will be Windows 8 compatible too?

The specs also says resistive touchscreen display but the newer touch screen computers come with capacitative screens.

Difference between the two:

It it just a matter of meeting these requirement?

Hopefully it's a fairly common touchscreen driver. For my old HP TX2000z which ran fine with Win7, it's not running so well in Win8 since the touchscreen drivers are too old. And if you don't have the 1366x768 minimum res, it's not going to be a pleasant experience since you'll be full screen only (no side windows).
