Will SATA2 drive work on a SATA motherboard??
Will SATA2 drive work on a SATA motherboard??
My motherboard is SATA only, not SATA2, so will it still work?

yes
SATA-II drives are backwards compatible with SATA-1 controllers (and vice versa, SATA-II controllers are backwards compatible with SATA1 drives).
NOTE: Some 3Gbp/s SATA-II drives require a jumper setting to force them to run at 1.5Gbp/s or else some issues may arise. Some owners of 3.0Gbp/s drives may experience problems however as some older 'SATA-II' drives (when 'SATA-II' was first released) require a firmware flash of their drive (in which case the manufacturer will need to be contacted). These issues arose as a result of manufacturer's bridging chip and firmware conflicts.

In some rare circumstances, you might need a jumper but that's about it ...
