I got an email last week from Wind telling me since I am a loyal customer, my $29 promo (unlimited calling, data, voice) has been extended - it was suppose to be just another year. Same goes for my datastick, $29 special was extended to me by email.

I have been very happy with Wind. I have been across Canada, and they have reception everywhere but a small strip of northern Ontario (roaming wise.) I just wish they would expand to MOntreal, though it's not their fault they can't at this point.

wow I didn't get the email :s Will have to call them up and ask!!!! BTW extended as in.. for another year (like 29/month for year 2)? So 3rd year will be $45?

I thought the blackberries had horrible battery life though?

I'm not sure telling someone to return their smartphone and get a blackberry is exactly the right solution either for that matter. I have a Nexus S and my girlfriend has a Galaxy Nexus, fine call quality on both. He got a dud, it happens. You can return it to Wind within 14 days or 30 minutes of talk time. Just explain it to the store reps and get a new one. I would strongly caution against getting a Blackberry at least until they launch their newer phone platform, particularly if you're using Windtab to do it.

Have had enough crap from the big 3, especially with the ridiculously priced data.

Can't go wrong with Galaxy Nexus. Probably one of the best phones that you can use with Wind/Mobilicity.

It's treated like every other carrier, just as if it was a local call. It means if you are roaming, you pay roaming minutes. If you have a limited minutes plan, it counts against your minutes.

The reception will be the main issues with that phone, return it for a Blackberry which has solid build quality and excellent reception, voice quality. More suited to Wind's network.

I have zero issues with my Galaxy Nexus on WIND. Its an awesome device. I actually saw my signal improve a bit when I upgraded to Jelly Bean.

I have a problem with calling 1-855 (the Nexus phone #) number on my Wind line but no problem at all with Mobilicity.

BBs are better communication device than android, android is more fun than BB.

Ok, that is good to hear cause I wouldn't want to switch phones due to network failures or something. Still undecided what to get though. Probably won't be opting for a SIII but something a little less expensive and less powerful for mediocre users like myself. How are the apps on the BB looking? Still lacking? I don't really use apps games. Maybe just a few really basic ones that I've seen other BB users have on their phones.

Apps on the BB platform are definitely lacking in comparison to Android. Really depends what you're using it for. If you think Skype, Netflix or having tons of games is a must have for you then BB is a no go (at least not till BB10 releases, what happens after no one knows yet). I have a BB 9900 and a HTC EVO 3D, I use my BB more than the HTC as the physical keyboard is something that really can't be beat if you do a lot of typing, may it be text messages or google searches or emails. Reception wise BB takes the cake, where HTC struggles to get a signal, BB has 2-3 bars always (both on Rogers).
Battery life on both devices is comparable, have to charge them once a day.

I'd definitely recommend getting one of the Bolds. 9900 ($99 on windtab) or the 9790 ($0 on windtab) depending on your budget ofcourse.

Absolutely, if you want to play games get android, otherwise nothing beats a BB and reception and quality are the best, period.

Thanks for providing a well balanced insight in BB vs Android. I am kinda tired of blank statements against BB.

I like the freephoneonline.ca idea using Voicemail to email feature because is more practicle. I have VOIP.MS and thinking of dedicating a line (DID for $0.99/month) just for the mobile voicemails as I do not want to have my home voice mail e-mailed. I would much rather see a different option where I get notification on my mobile phone that I have recieved a voicemail with reminder till I listen to it much like I got with my current mobile provider. Any suggetions?

Why not just sign up for a www.freephoneline.ca account since it supports voicemail to email?
