"You Changing Your Plan
All of our plans are eligible for WINDtab, but the amount that you may put onto your
WINDtab will vary depending on the plan you select. If you have activated a plan with
a WINDtab and later want to switch to another WIND plan, if that new plan is one for
which a lower value of WINDtab is available with your handset than the current balance
of your WINDtab, you must pay any difference between your WINDtab
balance at the date of the plan switch and the value of the WINDtab available on
that date for your handset and the new plan. You must make this payment when you
pay your next bill. "
If I'm reading this right, if I want to switch from my Wind40 plan to the 30$ plan, I have to pay off the Windtab regardless before switching over?

Does this include tethering/Wifi hotspot generating?
Yes, although WIND's data speeds cannot compete with those of Rogers, Bell, or TELUS.
ohh i read that and i get it now, thanks. but what i still dont understand is do u have to pay 10% extra, or does it take 10% from ur phone bill?
10% from your phone bill, not extra.

If you switched to a cheaper rate plan and for example...your remaining tab was $250 and the maximum tab allowance on your new plan is $200...you'd pay the difference of $50 on your next invoice.

Very good timing to switch my 4 Super Smart Plans. The good thing is these plans are for life not just only one year.

No, Wind promises to pay off your wind tab in 3 years max.

Newbie
Windtab works like this:
10% of your monthly bill, before tax, goes towards paying DOWN the Windtab. Think of it as Wind loaning you $200, and in return, paying off the phone for you as long as you remain a client. So if your plan is $40/month, $4 each month goes toward the tab. In order to fully pay off the tab, it will take 200 (tab) / 4 (monthly credit) = 50 months to pay it off. However, Wind will clear your tab if it's not paid off after 3 years.
So IF you decide to get a phone on a tab, remember that the higher the tab, the longer you have to be a client to pay it off. And if you decide after a year you want to switch providers, you'll have to shell out the remaining balance for the retail price of the phone.
Nothing is really 'free' unless you stick around

If whatever said on the promo is right about the Windtab. Can't be $500max since I saw my max Windtab is $1200 and is depending on your credit report.

What you saw is your combined WINDtab allowance if you have or were to open up multiple lines..you cannot, for example, apply $600 of your $1200 limit towards one line.
