^ I'd like to know this too. I need it for GPS but currently being charged $1/mb, which is adding up.

Just found this thread. Very good. I thought there are not so many grandfathered Wind PYW users with free incoming. Looks like I'm wrong. Glad to see you guys .

Yes it is. I don't want pay $50 a month to give my kids unlimited data. I just let them use Wind PYW . Maxium $2 per day . They'll have unlimited data, text and outgoing call (to local only). They won't use $2 day most of time since they have wifi in school and home M to F. They use $4 in weekend and some text message outgoing in weekday. Basically $20 will cover whole month. I have plenty of balance in my account so I won't worry the $20. If I run of it, I'm sue someone here will sell his/her balance to me for a discount price Smiling Face With Open Mouth

It is a much better deal considering you also need to pay $1.25 for SO 911 fee. The only thing SO has as an advantage is the 1 year expiry on top-ups.
911 CALLS FREE

Speaking of 911 fee. Found out a while ago that any deactivated cellphone in north america (as long as you have a signal) can call 911 for free. So if all you need is an emergency phone when you are out of the house and rarely make phone calls then just find an old cellphone and keep it charged and on you and save the extra costs. Handy to know if you have a spare phone hanging around you could keep it in the car/home/etc..

Does anyone's service still include the $2 max cap per day where everything is unlimited once you reach the cap?

I asked in one of the Freedom deal threads, mine doesn't seem to be doing that every since the rebrand to Freedom

Also no longer get the monthly texts saying they deducted $5 for unlimited texting, nor even if they can't renew it because my balance is too low... get almost nothing from them nowadays

Just dropped my $5 50mb add on and got the Fido $15/3gb data plan which I put in my dual SIM phone. And since the creation of this thread, Google has created Hangouts Dialer which lets you place free outgoing calls on wifi/data which displays your own phone number.

So I'm paying $6.67(top up $40 every six months) +$15= $21.67 per month in total. I still have the unlimited Canada/US texting add-on, and along with the free incoming calls, this is a plan that can't be beat.

I have a grandpa pay as you go plan, it still has $2 unlimited everything a day, I used it 2 days ago, but the fuxxing wind charged me two days for $2 each, and today charged me another 17 cents, I turned off the data already when I used 2 days ago.

I actually still have it. I thought it ended for me since I got charged over $2 for national outgoing call but I forgot that the unlimited outgoing call was only for local.

I'm happy it's been grandfathered. In case of emergencies, having unlimited LTE data for the day for only $2 is great.

Do you still get the text notification that the services will be free for the rest of the day?

Are you sure the $2 thing still exists? I remember I used to get text notification when they happened but I haven't gotten one in a LOOOOOONG time.
Also, when you say the unlimited outgoing calls is for local only, what does "local" mean exactly? Is that when you're in the Wind/Freedom Home zone? I recently went above $2 but that was during a phone call in the Away zone.
