I have 2 pcs. 1 desktop and 1 laptop connected to each other through a wireless router. I have a drive on the desktop I want to share(read and write) with the laptop. The only way I can do this is if I give everyone full permissions. This is no good as I do not want others who join my network to have access to this drive. How can I limit the drive so its only locally accessible(through the desktop) and accessible by only my user account on my laptop? Thanks!

Fantastical question as I wish to do this with my future media server but never thought about this.

what if you don't give every one full permission and only give your login full permission and enable password protected sharing? isn't that what its supose to do (when it works)
