I know winzip demo will run forever and there are ways and means of making it work without buying it, but if you want it legit $15CDN is pretty good for this package's features (IMHO)

Going to the StuffIt site will show the program selling for $39.99USD,

but looking around you'll see they'll sell it for a promotional $14.99USD if you're using a competing product. However, when adding the promotional item it is listed as an upgrade. As I am using a demo of WinZip I don't want to be stuck with an upgrade that won't work.

Poking about a bit further reveals a price of $19.99USD and when you add this to your cart it is the full version.

Now, a quick google turned up a 40% discount code: UserGroup .

So after you chose $CDN conversion it will come out to $15.45CDN which will save any extra CC conversion fees.

If you want to take a chance on the Upgrade then it would be even cheaper. (~$12CDN)

or... you can just use the freeware version of winrar, which is far superior to zip anyway. Or the free version of winace. Only hassle is closing the registration prompt every time. But hey it's free.

7-zip is free and open source, I believe. It deal with zip, rar, .001, etc etc.

Yes, but it does not handle many compression formats. Meh, I thought it was a good price for a retail product that has been around for a while.
