Wing or Drummette?
my friends and I had a dispute about whether the drummette or wing has more meat on it and well we haven't been able to clear this argument so what does RFD think?
Which has more meat ? let's avoid the whole mess about different sizes. let's just say in general, if you get a batch of 20, 10 wings and 10 drummettes, from one place, on average do you get more meat from the wings or the drummettes?
also, which do you prefer to eat?
I prefer wings!Last edited by l3aka; Nov 18th, 2009 at 09:24 PM.

Me, I personally like the wing but has to which part has more meat it really depends on the store that you're getting it from.

I was confused initially, figuring that Drumstick meant the leg. I think people call the wing part simply "drums", but not entirely sure.
Definitely prefer the wing more than the drums though, personally.

Just take a fork and take off all the meat. Proceed to measure the weight of each different type of chicken piece, and get your answer. But beware of the fat as it will sway results and should be stripped so as not to count.
In general drumstick has more meat. the wing is all skin/fat_______________

I would say the drumstick has way more meat than a wing, it is a lot bigger.
I am thinking you are only talking of the wing, cut into two pieces, in which it really is not a wing + drumstick, it is only the wing.
And I think there is pretty much equal amounts of meat on each end._______________
That's my 2cents worth
