I doubt that Cogeco will care really, it's up to the user to setup proper security for wireless networks.
If you still have access to the router you can try and look at the logs to see if it logged anything that could be used to find out the person using it, but its probably just a bunch of IP address between the internet and an internal address (which is worthless) ... so really your pretty much screwed.

Wireless security lapse / Cogeco ?
My friend had set up a wireless server in his apartment (Hamilton), and made the password the same name of the server (I'm guessing this was a REALLY bad choice??????). Now Cogeco has said he's almost over his bandwidth limit quite quickly and thinks he may have been hacked. Then again my friend thinks one of his kids may have been downloading movies too but isn't sure? Is there anyway to find out what really happened? (Note: he shut down the router and is giving the network a proper password). Will Cogeco look into this and cut him some slack? What should he do?

Note that if he has a hacker breaking into his wireless network and is using WEP, a 'proper password' won't be much better as WEP is not hard to crack by brute force. Make sure it's at least using WPA, as well as using a better password.
