WM: Mortal Kombat Deception - Kollector's Ed. (XBOX) $18.93!

not sure if this this is for all WM locations, but this has been going for a while now and i've seen it at a couple WMs

not too long ago, i managed to find a Collector's Ed. of Mortal Kombat (MK) Deception (for the XBOX) in the bargain bin of $18.XX clearance games at WM....

how is this "Kollector's Edition" special? well, here's some of the "extras/bonuses" that the reg. ed. of Mortal Kombat Deception doesn't have:

1) bonus game disc which includes:
- exclusive "arcade" perfect" playable version of MK1 (this i believe, might be the original MK game that 1st came out on the SNES :wink: );
- 25 character video bios incl.'ing MK team commentary; and
- an in-depth history of the MK franchise
2) serialized, Kollector's Ed. MK Trading Kard (a special tin-like card featuring a picture of Mileena - MK character)

btw, this Kollector's Ed. also has a slightly diff. front cover than the reg. ed. ... it's called the Mileena Edition - this special ed. of MKD features a shiny/metallic front cover w/ the Mileena character on it.

IMO, although the $18.93 price at WM is the reg. "everyday low price" (EDLP), it's still a pretty good deal for a collector's ed., esp. for those who love the original MK game ... and also, take into consideration that the MKD (XBOX) reg. ed. is also the same price at WM.

also, for anyone interested in PMing (price matching) at FS/BB (Futureshop/BestBuy), they may or may not have this collector's ed. (CE) instock, but their price is still $50 for their reg. ed. (which means, if they do have the CE instock, it might be higher-priced

after PM, you can get the reg. ed. of MKD for ~$16 + tax
(and perhaps even less for the MKD CE ... that is, if u can find it....)


personally tho, i've never seen FS/BB carry the Kollector's Ed. of MKD., so if you can't find it at FS/BB, try your luck at WM and buy it there instead.

It was on the backwards compatibility list for a while, then MS realized the gfx were broken and took it off.

I went to my local Wal-Mart and they were selling Deception but not the Kollector's Edition. Just the original so YMMV.

It was the same price.

they have the reg. ed.'s of MKD selling for same price actually... and both PS2/XBOX versions are avail.

BUT, i think the MKD KE is only avail. exclusively for XBOX...

it ain't easy to find... i've only seen this in the clearance bins, and consider urself lucky if u find a copy on the top somewhere,.... so u don't have to dig thru the huge pile of games....

i was just browsing thru the pile and happened to find a copy.... so fortunately i didn't need to dig down to the bottom


and yeah, sorry if i didn't already mention that the PS2/XBOX reg. ed's of MKD are same price .... that's kinda what makes it more worthwhile to buy the KE instead of the reg. ed.

wrong - the KE version is also available for the PS2. It has Sub-Zero on the front...which imo looks better than the XBox version.

oh so it's Scorpion that's on the cover... i thought it was another MK character.

i wonder how many diff. MKD KE there are for the XBOX... .... or is it just the 2 that i found (Mileena + Scorpion)

however, i'd doubt theyd dig thru the pile of games for u.... but at least they might take a look..
