Remind me after the convention to go back in time and kick myself for going to this dumb thing.

worlds first (and only) Time Traveler Convention
http://web.mit.edu/adorai//timetraveler/
Its a good idea. I tried it as a 5yo, telling my future self to come meet me at Xday, X year, wrote it on a piece of paper... but they never came.
I also lost that piece of paper, so hey, there is still hope. haha_______________

May 2nd, 2005 03:47 PM #4No, it sounds psychotic. Unfortunately, every person who seriously believes he's from the future is severely unbalanced. This wouldn't be much different than an "I've been abducted by aliens" convention.

Think about this.. after may 7th, everyone will be disappointed and discontinue hiding papers and trying to get the event publicized and it will be forgotten in history.... Thus, no one in the future will care and the cycle continues this way...They think they have failed but really they will have to continue to keep the legacy of this date alive for many years to generate the hype required for the first catalyst (future historians etc) to be interested.
This kinda does sound like something CNN would post front-page. They HAVE posted worse. But I digress._______________

They just showed this on AOTS (Attack of the Show) at TechTV last night.

May 3rd, 2005 09:46 AM #11If he did travel back in time from the future, he could easily show that he was...give us the winning lotto numbers, or, who's going to win the lotto and where they're from, or some historic event that is going to happen shortly. Its not that difficult.

I think they shouldn't have assumed that they should have specified universal co-ordinates or at least it was on Earth. It can get pretty confusing for your average space-time traveller, since, they'll exist, ya know.
That will be the failure of this convention. That, and the fact that if I were a time traveller, how do I know that the people of the past didn't set up a large concrete block where I'm supposed to teleport to? That would suck to materialize in concrete.

Has anyone here gone to this convention? Is it worthwhile?
