definitely not worth it...
The bus ride from Square one to Islington station is a good 30-45 minutes depending on how traffic is and how many people are making stops.
After that... is the LONG subway ride downtown.
I think it'll take you a good 1.5-2 hours to get to work.
Are you willing to spend 3-4 hours commuting?
Most retail jobs have 5-6 hours shifts... so you'll be spending all that time traveling just to make $50-$60.
If you're desperate, go for it. Its kind of "better then nothing". Again it depends on what your situation is like.

Is it worth it to commute from Misissauga to Eaton Centre for a retail job?
Recently, I have considered working retail downtown, is it worth it to look for work downtown, even if I live in mississauga? (In terms of total time and cost of commuting)
It seems as if all the retail gigs in Mississauga have dried up. there seems to be more available downtown?

I found that the route 35 reaches Islington the quickest,
but yeah, the issue would be getting to Union Station (Eaton Centre) from Islington

It's worth it if you need the money. Period.

Find something closer to you if you can. If you can't find any other job than that location, it looks like you will have to make due.
IMO, it's still not worth it though.

You could take the GO Bus from SQ1 to Union each day. The GO Train might also be worthwhile.

Back in my day, a Go Bus ticket to Union Station was $7 each way. I think that's gone up now? So calculate that twice each time you go to work. You could get a pass I guess but that eats into your income.
Personally, I think you'd be nuts to take a retail job downtown from Mississauga - unless it's like your absolute no holds barred last hail mary resort._______________

It is worth it if you enjoy the downtown life.
You can use the time you travel to read/sleep/talk to friends, its not a completely wasted time.
You probably get more experience working retail in Eaton Center than in Square 1 too, seeing how volumn in Eaton Center > Square One. But depends on which store.

You could probably get 2 jobs, and work 40-60 hour weeks.
Then it'd be worth it. But tiring as ****_______________

There are retail stores everywhere. If you have the skills to get hired by one downtown, you can probably do a similar job locally.
The commute is terrible. The other thing with retail is that you may not get full time hours depending on where you work. You don't want to commute 3 hrs to work 4 hrs.
Only do it if you seriously think you can't do better. In that case, I think you need to reassess your value to the job market.

You are a bit too late
most big retailers hire close to 100 seasonal employees during the month of October._______________
