Would a Harmony 550 work with my DVD player?

My friend who works in an electronics store, just presented me with a Panasonic SD-53 dvd player. As it was the demo model, it does not include any remote with it.

I have never bought or used any Harmony remote and was looking at the Harmony 550 model. Would I be able to program the remote to give full funtionality of the DVD player with it? If not then what are my options?
