What about [email]aaron.steinberg@gmail.ca[/email]?
You have a problem with Canada?
The 6 is better, typically when people use x's as a replacement I take offense to it for some reason. Like thx. It's snide.
The x after your name could mean any number of things but usually it's a negative association.
The 6 is a little more sporty.

......or you can buy a domain with your name or a variation of it if it's not available (initial.lastname, firstname.initial, or a .ca or .net domain, etc). Then host your email for free at google apps ([url]http://www.google.com/a/[/url]).
This would cost you about $10/year for the domain.LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked Brandon for this post.

Again, that is more like personal, rather than professional.
Why not just get a @me.com email?

They probably use google apps... Actually it looks like it's an Apple product.
So I guess that's not a possibility since gmail rocks_______________

+1 Was going to suggest that. My brother had to do it as his name is too common. For once I am happy about my weird ***** name. :cheesygri Can't speak about others but I claimed my name in all the free emails for the in case situation. Who knows if there is another person with your name out there!LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked setell for this post.

As someone who received a lot of resumes, interviewed and did hiring, unless your email address is a name/word/phrase that's really socially unacceptable, no one cares. I might take notice for 2-3 seconds if you have a weird email address, but after that it's just another name/word I use to contact you and I think nothing more of it. [firstname].[lastname]@ makes no difference versus [firstname]3987234@ or anything else. It's been known for a long time now that trying to get your real [firstname].[lastname]@ for any email is very, very difficult considering all the billions of email addresses out there. Some of us who've worked at large companies can't even get that for our work emails.
