No. The router may have an access password on it and even if it doesn't (but it will), all you can do is try to add a password. More likely, you will be locked out.

Would this work?
I have a laptop and when I visit my bf (rents basement appt) I use the wireless internetnsetnup by the house owner. For some reason I couldn't connect as it said the password was wrong. We ca t co tact the owner to get the pw. The main compter is a wired connection to the wireless router.
Can I take the Ethernet cable out of the main computer and put it in my laptop and access the router from there? That way I. Can get the password. Will this work?
