would you buy a bmw with a $500-700 carproof claim on it?

hey guys so as some of you know my friend bought a bmw (2011) with a claim on the carproof! would you buy one with that kind of claim? personally i would i mean its a small claim for a bmw isn't it?

Hes about to take delivery and sign for the vehicle today. i just want to make sure to guide him correctly. like if he was reselling it,would you buy it? as a potential buyer?

That's probably from a scratch or small ding that had to be repainted.

$700 would barely fix a small scratch nowadays. Even a small bump on the rear end (Like a low speed collision cracking a bumper) would easily cost $1500-2000.

I know the labor is always the biggest cost in any repairs. The tech needs to refer to manual and if not found, then need to discuss with foreman and in turn, foreman may need to call up BMW Canada for the right parts and if no avail, the foreman will need to call bmw germany for further consultation.

Naw it was likely complete engine and transmission replacement.

For reference, my dad was rear ended and to fill a couple of holes and spray/paint match the bumper to the car cost about that much. It was literally a fender bender that should have been settled outside of insurance.

if 500-700 is an issue, i dont think your friend is mentally prepared to own a bmw.... remember bmw = burn my wallet
