Would you patron a business more (restaurant, theatre, gym etc) if they banned kids

Why is the Y "family friendly"?

I find children unpleasant so if there are gym's out there who aren't "family friendly" (thus I assume deterring people to bring children there) that'd be a plus in my books.

Sorry to say I agree with you.
Kids running around a gym area, dangerous, kids peeing in the swimming pool.
I wish public areas with swimming pools would add the water colouring chemical when somebody pees in the water.
That is a gym I would like to join.

Hehe I'm proud to say that and I agree - not only a gym but I'd join an almost anything that banned kids from entering.

I'm not much of a 'bar guy' but one of the reasons I like bars is that it's the only place I'm virtually certain I won't be expected to tolerate someone else's damn wiener kid.

Even the movie theatre's have been mostly overrun with G/PG rated crap which attracts kids like a magnet.

I wanted to say "patron a business more" but I ran out of space for the title.

I'm really surprised that more businesses haven't tried this - plenty of people out there who don't have kids and don't want anything to do with them. Or parents who just want an escape from the hell of child rearing.

I really think something like this would do great for business.

I would definitely prefer a business that bans kids from the main area of service. By that I mean they could have a babysitting service at the entrance, like at my Goodlife gym.

I would absolutely give my business to a theatre that banned children and kept staff in the theatres to kick out savages who don't know how to act 100% of the time over a theatre that didn't. I'd even be willing to pay up to twice the ticket price for such a theatre.

Absolutely! Many parents think that their kids are the centre of everyone's universe and don't have the balls to discipline their kids in public places. Parents think that "oh kids will be kids" and don't take the duties of parenthood which involves discipline and telling them how to act properly in public places. Sometimes I honestly wonder if they are raising kids or jungle animals.

I don't have issues with kids who are well behaved, but I draw the line when they are running table to table disturbing others, screaming/shouting and basically just being a royal PITA.

I have nothing but distaste for children and tend to go places where they are not.

Consider, though, where it comes from. They are only behaving in a way that they have learned and has been tolerated. As such, I blame their idiot parents.

Too bad there aren't stringent qualifications for being able to procreate.

Problem is in our country the media, the politically correct a-holes and the self appointed human rights police would do anything they can to kill these businesses.

Nothing worse than having a nice meal out and Little Johnny Entitlement walks in with his idiot parent(s) to ruin it for everyone. This seems to be happening more and more often..unless I'm just getting older and grumpier?!
