Would you be satisfied with a $55,000 salary?

In Canada before taxes of any sort. Would you be satisfied with a 55k salary and lets say you can move up to around 65-70k mark within the next 10-15 years.

Doesn't seem too bad. As long as I have enough room in my house and money to buy most things I need, I'm okay.

I am getting that much right now. I was satisfied with it until last year but not anymore.
I am already looking for better opportunities within and/or outside my company.

Depends on where you live, what you have to pay, any kids or dependent to take care with.

Some people settle and live OK with 35-40k...., some people still in a load of debt when making 70k.

No but if you asked me when I was in co-op I would've been damn happy. People adjust their living styles to their salary so the thought of a paycut would be insane. You should be asking yourself if you're okay with 55K and if it's fair given the role, your experience and education.

Definitely, I'd even settle for much less provided I love what I am doing. :)

Most people don't even make 55k/year.

That seems ok for a part-time job.

I make 42000 a year. If I stick at this place, I should be able to bring in 55 000 in 3-4 years. I would be happy to make that. Right now I make about $60 000 a year with overtime and im living comfortably with $1000 a month savings. I would deff be satisfied with making $60 000 without having to work any overtime. one day, I can only dream.

if you're in your early to late 20s making that, you're doing well and better than "okay". if you're in your 30s and been working for 7-10 yrs and making that, i would personally be pissed.

on a personal note, im going for 80/100k at or into my early 30s to mid 30s (+ inflation since thats aways away vs my current age)

If I wasn't making that much, then yes, I would be satisfied with it since it would be a raise. I currently make a fair bit more than that, so no, I would definitely not be satisfied with that much
