Proview is a Chinese brand. It's a good company. They make Xerox (brand) LCDs which is selling in Office Depot USA.

You need a primer on "HD". At any rate, those Viewsonics are "HD" so buy with confidence.

stay away from dell too then, some of their products are made in china
so its a gamble if u're purchasing from em, u wont know where they were manufactured.

so any non chinese electronics are good? i think u better look at the company rather than the whole country. asus must suck cause they're made by the chinese.

My local futureshop had digimate 26" LCD on sale for $649.99

The thing is, these LCDs aren't too good. Might as well invest the extra $100 or $200 and buy a Toshiba, Samsung or Viewsonic.

The China made LCDs don't suck. The PSP monitors that were made in Japan had tons of problem with dead pixels and stuff while the later ones which were made in China actually did better.

I use a Proview 15inch LCD and it's pretty good.

Maybe GWB meant to stay away from generic non-brand name Chinese-made electronics? The big brands may produce in China but their quality control is a lot better than many of the unheard of brands that are exclusively Chinese designed/ripped off/made. Some of these companies are trying to improve though.
