Wow...Canada debt to gdp has been in decline since 2016 and is lower than Singapore!

The main reason Quebec has a balanced budget is high levels of taxation maintained by the previous liberal government, with no significant spending initiatives. For example, when the federal government lowered the GST, Quebec took back 1% of it in a provincial increase.

There is no mystery to balancing a budget. It requires pain and hard choices.
You're both right, Quebec has been cleaning up their overspending at the same time Libs here were cremating cash. But they also receive much more $$ from the feds than we do, because French.

I think we have some easy choices, starting with "free" university, welfare reform, microfit and literally any other program the Libs brought in, most of which have no accountability or results.
