You can trade-in any old phone, dead or alive. I traded-in a flip phone without a battery last boxing date for $50 at WOW.

Refer to thread summary for the free unlock procedure at Telus/Koodo/PM. YMMV

OR $150 GC plus $100 trade-in.

I just found out that WOW $150GC new activation for iPhone SE 32GB on July 4.

What? Isn't the 2nd option obviously better?

Also, why the hell are you getting Tab Small instead of Tab Medium?
Does it make a difference at all?
The tab is not a subsidy.. it's more like a loan.

Why Koodo restricts which plans you can choose with the different tab amounts.. I don't know.

People need to stop including phone trade-in credits in these deals.

So that you start with a low cost plan plus you can pay part of the upfront $120 with the phone trade in $50.

Beats me why anyone would buy a non-expandable 32GB phone.

If you are not in AB, you can pay AB tax on the whole $360 by changing the number instead of whatever tax for $120 and AB tax for $240.

  1. If you are not a Koodo customer, activate a BYOD line. If you are already a Koodo customer, go to step 2.
  2. Send a referral to yourself. Referral credits now go to the account, not to a particular line.*
  3. Get the phone with Tab Medium on a new line on the same account.
  4. Submit the referral for the new line.
  5. *Cancel the first line if you were not a Koodo customer.
  6. Change the number to AB if you are not in AB.
  7. Change the plan to Seasonal Hold.
  8. Cancel the line 3 months later.

+$20+tax SIM Cards
-$100 referral credit
-$100 gift card
+$360 + AB tax for Tab pay-off = +$378
+$~60 for 3 months of seasonal hold and other plans for a few days
= $~258 + SIM Cards tax and no phone trade-in BS

You have two choices:
1. $120 upfront + $240 small tab: You can use the trade-in credit to pay part of the upfront cost. Upfront cost is $70 with trade-in credit
2. $0 upfront + $360 medium tab: The trade-in credit can be use for expensive phone accessories at WOW.
Which option is better?

The trade-in credit can only be used to pay for upfront cost OR expensive phone accessories at WOW. If you understand this restriction, you will pick the small tab and why we always discuss about the trade-in credit to reduce the cost of your new phone.
