Does anyone, internal or otherwise, have any updates regarding this position. There has been no posting of the EA position or Case Manager position in a very long time

Hiring freeze until 2019.

Unlikely of an upcoming EA hiring as they essentially looking to get rid of this role altogether.

It looks like the next hirings will be for CSR or CM.

What happens to the people who are already in the EA pool? Does that mean people in the EA pool should lose all hope of ever being hired?

Might have a chance of entering the CM pool...but nobody really knows what’s going on these days.

A large portion of the training staff ‘lost’ their jobs (packaged out or offered another position) so this doesn’t bode well for future mass hirings like in the past.

Does anyone have insights about the Payment specialist job ? Do they work closely with CM's or EAs and can one transition from from Payment specialist to CM easily ?

Whats the current salary for an Eligibility Adjudicator?

Where do people go from these roles?

71-86.

The next promotion up is a case manager.

Although it looks like the WSIB is considering getting rid of this role in lieu of more CSRs/Case Managers.

I worked at WSIB for 1 year in various roles and my advice is to avoid it, some reasons being:
- managers over promising and forgetting a few days later about it
- many people are too comfortable here and do anything to screw you over. Great if you are a yes-man/woman, not great if you have some ambition
- if you're trying make a difference to the claimants, you're goal is actually to find any way to minimize money spent making them well again.
- constant bad press wears you down
- ancient IT systems/applications that are always broken
- the office setup is old and tired (1990's pastel colors in some areas!)

I heard the job environment sucks right now. The Toronto Star also wrote an article last year. https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2018/1 ... -risk.html

The pay is great though, so even with all the bitching people will still stay lol. Downside is tied to a phone, no flex work options (i.e. work from home), and micromanaging.
Pretty much this.

However, it’s not as bad as the above mentioned poster makes it out to be.

If you have a good manager/co-workers it’s really not too bad.

There have been a number of changes that have been made over the past year or so that have made things a bit of a nightmare.

Unfortunately, Senior Management doesn’t want to listen to the staff or the media or pretty much anyone. They prefer to just stick their head in the sand and pretend like the changes they made are great and everything is rosey. So until that changes I don’t think morale will improve anytime soon.

Do you know how much a CSR or CM makes? Thank you!

CSR is essentially 55-66 (just under) and CM is 82-99 (just under).

This is taking into account the top end of the salary grade as of 01JAN20 and the starting salary as of 01JAN19. It takes 36 months to get to the top of the salary grade.
