i think its easier to just get a per-second billing pay as you go account.. i think fido offers per-second billing on its pay as you go.. not sure.. but it'll get u what u want without a contract.. (and it has caller id)

As far as I know, all pay as you go are per minute billing and whenever I hit voicemail, even for 1 second, I get charged... Now even if there is a per second pay as you go, I'm sure it costs over $30... maybe even $50 because $20 is totally pointless for the provider. Now, if I buy a $10 card on my fido, it is surposed to provide like 33 minutes of talking which is about 1 minute a day... I only use up about 10 minutes of that time at most because of per minute billing and I barely wanna call someone because of the fact that I will get charged for that. I want a contract because I know that I can pay for it and because I wasted way more money on fido and barely even used my phone. My counter is at 4:49:09. I got the phone when it was at 2:30:00. It was about a year ago maybe a bit less. So it turns out that I only used up 2 hours and 19 minutes totally on the phone in 1 year, paying an average of $15 a month. So, $180 for 2 hours and 19 minutes is a bit too much, don't you think? Oh and btw, bump

Would the Fido $20 for 200 minutes not be good enough?
It is by the second and you don't need a contract.
You also get to keep your number.
Although it is about $32 or so after taxes&fees.

Yep I know it... I'm just looking for an advice at the same time.

Are you sure you don't need a contract? I researched Fido web site and I think that you do. Anyhow, I will go to the nearest Fido kiosk and check it out. Thanks for the advice!

Go to fido.ca> Packages > select province&city
Fido Agreement status:
Available with or without a Fido Agreement
It is a simple solution. Hopefully your sim card is still active. Just call up 611 and ask to change to the plan.
If you're able to get one of those Rogers corporate plan it would have a few extra features for a similiar price (i believe they are a much better deal). By going monthly with Fido, you keep the same number and no contract so you'll be able to wait around for whatever deals that may come along for you.

How's This
It's a Telus plan, $20 Dollars a month, 200 daytime minutes, free after 6 and on Weekends, Voice mail, call waiting and conference calling. With taxes and fees and everything you're looking at $31.29.
If you want Caller ID and Extended Voice mail I can get that done for you for a one time fee of $80 Dollars.

I believe he's looking for a plan from a GSM carrier. The $25/month unlimited incoming plan was sweet back when I got it a year ago with Fido, it's only 100 anytime minutes but you can call someone, hang-up and have them call you back and it's free.

Okay peeps... never mind. I changed to $20 FIDO plan. Turned out that the [word removed] :P lady didn't know what per-second billing means... I wasted 1 freakin hour to change my account... awful customer service but oh well, at least I got what I wanted.
