Get a 1GB Kingston stick for $98 at CTY (GTA).

dual channel will be most stable if you can find a 1gb stick with the exact same ram chips and pcb.

if the stick are not identical, then dual channel is still possible, but usually at a much slower speed, say ddr333 rather than 400
