WTB: Open Box PS3's

Another thread in this forum got me interested in finding open-box PS3's, since the 60 Gigs are reportedly being sold for $530 at Best Buy. So I thought I should open a thread for people to post up-to-date info on when and where they see these open box units, since the availability of open-box ones will likely be low (maybe 1 or 2 per store here and there, if that). It would suck to drive all the way to a store only to find out that the unit someone posted here a day or 2 ago was already sold.

So if anyone has seen any open-box units in-store, please post in this thread, stating the date and time you saw the units.

I went to the BB at richmond Hill and saw a $593.00 opened box. Didn't see the $530.00. Was wondering if anyone knew why they had two prices for OB items?

I'm giving the OP the benefit of the doubt on the price, since I haven't been to the store. Maybe he made a mistake in reading the price?

Either way, whoever finds open-box deals, please post them here with the price/location/time.

Yes I did on Sunday. It was Best Buy at Markville Mall. $594 in the locked cage.

So it seems that the poster's price of $530 was inaccurate I guess.
Still, $594 will be attractive for a lot of people... keep the info coming guys

The one posted for $530 might have been missing something, such as the controller etc..

Yeah maybe, I don't know what else it could have been missing, since the controller is the only accessory the console comes with, it has to be that (if not a cable)...

Saw 3 open boxes for $593.99 @ Richmond Hill BB, and another 10 NIB and a dozen controllers.

I think the original thread said that the 530$ one turned out to be defective.

I've only ever seen one,it was @ FS and it was $594.
Manager said it was a return,and the packaging was still sealed.
I would have bought it in a sec,so I passed....but the guy standing next to me bought it.

Then we both joked about the lame eBayer's who are bringing their systems back during their 30 day buffer zone.
Too bad I don't have that kinda protection when I invest....oh well.

well you could always buy a brand new one, open the box and return it then buy that same system back and you would essentially have a brand new system at open box price

I was at Markville yesterday, they no longer have a cage, they now have a glass display case where the cage used to be...but they didn't have any PS3s yesterday

the one for 530 is most likely a double return... FS/BB only discounts items for 10%, and another 10% on the second return... so I highly doubt it was a one time return item...

You guys are lucky you dont have a butt load of oil.

There are very few PS3's to be found in Edmonton and Grande Prairie, Alberta. Seem as rare as the Wii.
