WTB: Skates

As the title indicates, I'm looking for some skates for my son and I. My younger son and wife are all set, but we won't be able to join them until we find some proper icy foot gear!

I've checked a used place in Hamilton, and their skates were not cheap and in terrible condition...I guess next is Play it Again Sports in Burlington. Any other ideas?

I would also be willing to buy privately, new or used.

you could post a request on www.freecycle.org and see if you can pick up a pair for free, see quite a few posts. Also Value Village is 50% off on Monday the 13th, maybe there?
what size btw?
