Huh? 6670? Really? That's almost the low end for gamer cards. And where did they get the chip market price "upwards of $79.99" when whole 6670 cards are sold at around CAD $75?

XBOX 720 is confirmed for October 2013
(sorry if posted before, did not see it) http://www.tgdaily.com/hardware-feat...ics-horsepower I was just about to throw some serious $ into a gaming PC. Now I am wondering if I should wait. I realize the initial units will be full of kinks, most likely and it is still over a year away, but still. Not so sure why I am so excited about this. http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/01/...as-current-gen

They probably mean the MSRP of the graphics card, not the chip. Keep in mind that these bloggers are not very tech-savvy people and don't know all the ins and outs of the lingo.
With that said, the 6670 is significantly more powerful than what the X360 used - a modified Radeon X1800.

Yeah, it's "confirmed" because some no-name tech news site is reporting it...

Absolutely nothing is confirmed. Once devs get their units we might get specs but even then they might not be the same.

http://www.techradar.com/news/gaming...report-1057564
"The Kotaku report cites a "reliable industry source" who suggests the company will appease publishers by clamping down on the second-hand games market.
The source had no information on how Microsoft planned to integrate such a scheme, which could alienate a massive array of potential buyers and push them into the arms of Sony's new PlayStation."
Wow, first nail in the coffin if M$ actually goes through with this.Last edited by Beradon; Jan 26th, 2012 at 05:47 PM.

6670? Really? Something that's already a generation behind will be used in a console that might be released in 2 years? What a pile of bullshit.
Remember that 360 had X1800 grade video chip... something that became available for pc 6 months later.
Or original Xbox with NV2A chip... about GeForce4MX level, also available only months later for pc._______________

There doesn't seem to be anything in those articles that really states oct 2013 as an official release date? I don't think anything is confirmed yet.
I would imagine its a good ballpark estimate though. This has to be one of the longest generation of consoles in a while? The 360 game out in 05? So its already 6+ years old.
edit: It also doesn't surprise me that it will be more powerful than the new wii. Nintendo seems to use a business model that relies on profits from consoles. So they use last gen tech. The Wii was only as powerful as the xbox1 (even the xbox1 had some moderate HD capabilities though). The Wii-U will want to keep costs down, so they won't go as far with power as the 720 or ps4. Could backfire... I don't think they'll strike lightning twice with an innovative controller that appeals to the masses. The same demographic they sold millions of consoles too isn't really the type to upgrade.Last edited by zod; Jan 26th, 2012 at 09:20 AM.

I read the same stuff too and no where does it say 2013 is "confirmed" nor that the system is actually called "Xbox 720". (That is a stupid name anyway.) Just the usual fluff news outlets creates to make a story out of nothing.
