XBOX, PS2, GAMECUBE or GB-SP?
If you were a first time buyer, what would you get? Console systems are sooo cheap now, and with the different mods on them (PS2 has a smaller version out, xbox has 3 color schemes to choose from, gamecube....i'm sure has something, and Gameboy sp is just too cool, especially for flying or greyhound trips. I heard you coudl buy a 1 gig flash card for it and put all the roms on it?!?).
I bought an xbox 1 year ago, but returned it because of finances, now that I have a job, I'd like to pick up a console system to play when I'm not playing games on my PC. Halo is a fav of mine, but recently I've been playing GTA: San Adrea's at a friends and really like. I love legend of Zelda too, but hate Gamecube controllers more then xbox.
I'm in a bind! Opinions? Links? Package deals? What do you own? What do you hate about your console?

Have you actually played Zelda windwaker? I actually found it pretty boring.
I'd go with Xbox,PS2,and GC in that order. I've got all 3 and that's the order I'd place them. GC let me down more then I thought it would. Too many of their franchise games are pretty big letdowns IMHO. Mario Sunshine is the only game so far that I've really liked.

How exactly is this the wrong forum? Ummm...yep, almost.
Really? Zelda - boring? Wow. I going to read some reviews I guess on GC's top games.
How much staying power does each console have? I think xbox probably, right? I remember when it was a big deal for me to decide wether to buy a ps1 or hold off and wait until ps2 came out. I ended up obviiously getting a ps1. Do you think people have the same decision now to make? I haven't heard anythign about a ps3 or xbox2...

I just found Zelda to have less to it then past games. You spend alot of time just sailing slowly around the ocean. There also seems to be a big lack of dungeons. I found the time between dungeons way longer then past games. I miss the old games that would have like 20 dungeons to fight through. Plus even some of the dungeons felt pretty boring to me. Quite a few spots I found frustrating to get through. I've actually put the game off for now.
It's not that it's a bad game, just that compared to the classics behind it doesn't really hold up.

I wish Zelda: A link to the past, would have sequels to it, but without the drastic changes. Same game, same feel, but more maps. When I become rich, i'll make it happen.
If I chose an xbox, is there a certain package I shoudl get vs just buygin the console on it's own?

Get another XBOX. No question about it, XBOX is the best. The PS2 is showing its age and i heard that games can't be made any better for the Ps2 then they are currently because it just doesn't have the power. The newest Ps2 games such as the new grand theft auto are supposed to have bad graphics, because the graphics had to be cut back to make way for online play. They xbox has power to spare and a much faster loading time then PS2.
If you will be playing online XBOX live can even compare to what ps2 has to offer. Xbox has a hard drive so you wont have to buy memory cards.
Another reason to get another xbox is that Halo 2 comes out on Novmber 9th.

At Best Buy you can get the holiday bundle on sale for 180 with top spin 1 more game (forget the name) for free.
you can also get the crystal bunble for 250 with is absically a clear xbox and clear controller which comes with fable and crimson skies (much better and more expensive games then the holiday bundle.

Get a slim PS2 for the massive game library and selection to choose from and a DS when it comes out. You should be set with upcoming gaming trends as well. GameCube is also another possibility. And constantly upgrade your PC for games like Half-Life 2.

GameCube, or DS. GC's a great value, and the DS is really exciting new tech; this is the first gaming platform to promise something new, something different since...probably the PlayStation.
