Above this message, you can see images of Motostorm, look carefully and you will find alot of jagged edges. Explain why a CG movie would have jagged edges?

Also have jagged edges and other effects you'd think would look more realistic in a cg movie than in-game.

look at all those jagged edges in every single shot of this game Test Drive Unlimited that is to come out for XBOX360. Surely this is in-game, cuz no moron could make a worse cg video than this. We should also look at this game as a kinda poorly created because its not a big company like EA Games or anything..
So I hope atleast these are in-game? and we also have to consider that these games arent really created by big developers and so in that case it could be the reason the game doesnt look THAT great and has jagged edges..but again it could be that games like Killzone2 are nuthin but videos to impress people?

Too much hype on the PS3 and 360 while too little info on the Rev makes this too hard to decide right now.
Honestly.... PS3 is 35x more powerful then PS2... Sony is just messing with your head. It's a simple number manipulation. 360 said it was 10-12 times more powerful then xbox, Sony came back with that comment. Many people fail to realize that xbox may have been 2x ps2.
Also, those video clips they showed of ps3 were mostly non-real time. Making it just like a movie. I have confidence that they will get there, eventually... but remember Sony's promise on the PS2 launch title graphical capabilities? More Sony BS.
As for MS, it seems to be another computer. A better one. Yay, more Halo and PGR and... NG. None of those titles hold any interest to me. (Not a NA gamer) Just there is no appeal.
Finally, the controllers. Man.... 360's controller IS xbox's but white and uses 2.4ghz RF signals. Great... reminds me of PS1 -> PS2... (wooo it's black) Speaking of which, the PS3 boomerang... I dunno about that one... Looks can be deceiving, but honestly.. too much "white" space aka filler space.
As for the Nintendo Rev, people were expecting lots of info, yet there wasn't much. Typical. Sony will probably steal the idea again. It was a good move mentioning only the stuff everyone knew. They love to understate and that's what gets me upset. As for the backwards capability, I would probably get a Revolution JUST for that. (lol @ Earthbound, I have it, and I LOVE it)
Probably end up what I did for this gen, and grab a Sony and a Nintendo.

I'll buy one after they drop in price, but HONESTLY i'll buy whichever platform that has the best games I can copy directly to the harddrive or atleast cheaply on discs.

well, that would be most true for Xbox360 and PS3. I dont think it will be THAT difficult to make it so that you can play games off the hard drive, but it will be different than as it was on the PS2.
Since PS3 is using Blue-ray discs or w/e their capacity is about 54gb?(Im not sure if thats right) and in that case I doubt any game is going to require any space to install any information onto the hard drive, everything will be most likely read from the disc. The only thing the hard drive will be useful for is saving games, musics and so on...which could make it easier or harder to be able to make a software that allows you to run games off the hard drive. Another problem would be the size of the games, if they become too big then you would really need some large size hdd's.
But obviously, my choice will be more likely about what games the console has than how good it looks, however I do expect it to look as nice as they have shown video demo's about...especially KillZone2! Its going to be a very big dissappointment if the games look ugly, and I will probably have to think twice about it...cuz I might just stick with the ps2 until that ps3 drops to a $100
ahahah. Cuz it aint worth buying a console that has so much power and expensive yet has ugly graphics.

it's quite obvious that it's PS3 VS 360, and Rev. is in the corner doing it's own thing. The question is "why?" Why not compete with them? Voted PS3 because of meda center possibilities.

I think the 360 will have the best media center capabilities. HD = custom tracks plus Sony is not well known for supporting other people's formats. It also will read most any device that can hook up to the USB2 ports.
It's a shock there are SD and CF slots in the PS3. Maybe they're learning their lesson but knowing Sony, I doubt it. They don't play nice with the other standards.
After seeing the tech demos, I definitely think the PS3 has the most potential for near CG graphics but will developers harness it. It's already expensive to make games for the current consoles and it'll be even worse for the 360/PS3.
Xbox will likely be hacked first (plus it's using standard DVD discs).
I think Nintendo realizes they can't compete with the billion dollar conglomerates in terms of technology. They're bowing out of being the tech leader and instead focusing on their niche market and low budget titles. I don't think we'll be seeing the games on the Revolution. They're focusing on the non-nerds at the moment. When I watched the whole conference live yesterday, they kept preaching the same thing: make it easy to play for the normal joes. As long as Nintendo is profitable, they'll still be there. You won't get the variety the others are offering but you will get cheaper (hopefully) titles._______________
From a "Family" reviewer: "We Cheer teaches coordination, enticement to lust, women being used as sex objects, and team work."
From Worthy Playing: "We Cheer is, then, for all intents and purposes, the F-Zero GX of music games. It asks for so much, yet forgives so little. It is actually so casual that it's hardcore."

I think you all need to give Revolution a chance before you say its out of competition. There's no confirmation of specs, no screenshots, no video games videos, no launch title list.. and not even the controller. Nintendo has something going on... they are just being secretive about it.

May 18th, 2005 02:00 PM #23Well it is speculation at this point. But most reports suggest that Rev will only be 2-3 times as powerful as the Gamecube.

May 18th, 2005 02:44 PM #24Again, that statement is ambigious. 2-3 times more "powerful" meaning what? Theres more to a system then one component as you are well aware of. But honestly, 2-3 times sounds really bad... lol Nintendo isn't very boostful, let's just see whats up with it tomorrow... hopefully by the end of e3, something will be done.

I am excited about all 3 systems. The one I am more excited about is the XBOX 360 only because it comes out first and Perfect Dark Zero being the launch title.
