Ok here's the situation. I purchase a new computer with the following specs:

AMD 64 3000+
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
1 Gig DDR444 RAM
Antec Sonata II w/ 450W PSU
XFX Geforce 6800GT

So I swap out my 2 HD's from my old computer, my two optical drives and insert the graphics card and ensure the supplemental power is connected. I turn the computer on, it roars up. I reformat the HD and install Windows XP. Windows loads up and I install all appropriate drivers. I restart again and am faced with a screen from Nvidia saying there is insufficient power to use my graphics card and that it is underclocked to prevent damage. At this time I also realize one of my HD's isn't spinning. I couldn't get the HD working at all, on the new computer nor the old one. The graphics card underclocks to about 50%. When I first boot up the computer, there's a small green light on the video card that lights up. Right when the light goes out, the message comes on my screen about the insufficient power and my card is underclocked.

Being that it was a new setup, I brought it back to where I purchased it. They guessed it was a PSU issue. They estimated 2-3 days wait. I received a call from them saying that it appears to be a graphics card problem. They said they tried my graphics card in another computer setup and it was doing the same thing by underclocking itself. They also said they tried another video card in my computer and it ran fine. (It was a 6600 they tried so a little different).

My question, could it be possible that the PSU could have blown my HD and my video card? And now the video card is pooched regardless of the computer it's installed in? The computer company is claiming that even if it was a PSU issue they would only warranty the PSU, no peripherals connected to it. I feel they didn't test the system properly as I purchased the graphics card elsewhere so they did not have a video card to test with.

What do you guys think the original issue was? More the graphics card out of the box or more a PSU issue? I know it's hard to determine without troubleshooting but if you guys can help out with any ammo to replace my defective hardware, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
