I used to be anti-Type C... but the audio quality on the Mi 8 with the razer audio cable is the best I've ever experienced on a phone. WAY better than the G7 and it's lauded quad dac unless you are using 250+ ohm headphones
Off the top of my head, the S10 which some have called a luxury feature now.

Hola
Just for those of us who are interested, this phone has Widevine L1 support according to a few YouTubers who have the global version.

What I don't know is when the said global version will be available...

Usually 2 months later, but careful though some retailers pass Chinese version as global.
I'd wait til you hear official news/release & go from there.

I believe Amazon Italy and Spain are selling the global version with 6gb ram and 64gb memory for 449 Euro... might be where some of the youtubers who reviewed them got it. Amazon Italy and Spain will ship all over Europe but not to North America. :(

They did, and then they brought it back. The demand for the jack is real. It is not for everyone, but it is there enough that they brought it back.

Yea now that Samsung is the only major flagship with a 3.5mm jack (I think the G7 has one as well), I bet they actually see a bit of sales from people specifically looking for it. It's pretty much the only reason I buy Samsung phones.

If true, this is a deal-killer, for me.

Oh good find, I didn't even bother going through the check out process cause it said the seller selected not to ship this product to US / Canada.

I haven't purchased anything from Aliexpress for awhile, and not really planning to. Just posted the link cause Aliexpress only had the China version of the Mi 9 until today I believe.
That said, I don't really have an issue giving out my cc to Aliexpress, I rotate through different CC so I would probably cancel whatever CC I use in a couple months anyway.

Had a mi Note5. after a few months it lags like crazy opening the camera app would freeze the phone for 10+ secs. Sure is great for the few months... MY Samsung S8 doesn't have that issue at all.

You're comparing apple to orange, note 5 uses a mid range chip while Mi 9 & S8 uses top tier chips.

Might also be user error where you might have app(s) running in the background, eating up your ram.

Hola
I pulled the trigger and ordered the device.
1. Bought it from amazon.es.
2. 6GB RAM / 64GB ROM - Black - Global version.
3. Seems to be about CAD$750 all in... I haven't received the final amount from my CC yet. It seems to also take our local taxes in at the time of checkout. Last I check I'll be dinged an additional 2.5% for currency conversion .
4. I took the fastest shipping method available for about EUR21 - They claim delivery in 4 to 6 days.

I've used AliExpress a bunch over the years without issue. If you are concerned you can use a pre paid card.
