XM Radio...
Hey all...
Just wondering if anyone is successfully receiving XM Radio (or Sirius) broadcasts in Canada - and if so - what areas?
I know that Sirius was in talks with CBC Radio about bringing the service to Canada - but the last update on that was 2003.
Thanks in advance for any info on this..._______________

As of 3 or 4 months ago, you could order hardware online (xmfanstore.com shipped to Canada), and subscribe online... you could put the whitehouse address as your address, it didn't really matter, all they send you in the mail is the welcome kit which amounts to a little magazine/brochure.
Not sure if that all applies now.LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked frogger for this post.

All you need is a valid US address. You can put the white house address if you want. They won't care.

Awesome!!
Thanks for the great info guys!
I knew that I could get the equipment (plus I have a US address for my business anyway) - I was just curious about the coverage - and IF I would be able to receive the (US) signal or if it would be a waste of $$.
Thanks again!!_______________

I got XM in my car with a pioneer XM ready deck and a XM tuner / antenna
XM is great and they dont care if your in Canada. I Called them and asked them if they had any problems billing a Canadian Credit Card, they assured me there would be no problem and if I opted for credit card they would not mail any statments.
Keep in mind around tall buildings downtown where it blocks a majority of the south west sky you will have signal interuptions, richmond st is a prime example of this. THis will be improved when they install repeaters (applied half a year ago and was denied) however service on any of the GTA's highways including dvp/404, 401, gardener/qew, 427, 407 all work flawlessly. There are no signal interuptions while going under bridges either (unless there massive under passes)
got all the hardware off of ebay.... Total setup for antenna and tuner was like $220 (deck not included)
worth every penny, works out to about $17 a month cdn. Havnt burnt a cd since I got it!LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked GangStarr for this post.
