XP SP3 Browsing Issue

Hey guys, just installed SP3 after an entire year of dealing with Vista's annoyances. But sadly SP3 has come with an annoyance of its own. The issue I'm having is with browsing.

When scrolling, the webpage doesn't load smoothly and the mouse freezes as if the computer was struggling. I'm not sure why its doing this, I've enabled "Use smooth scrolling" in Firefox, my computer is AMD dual core 4200 with 2 GB ram. The rest of the computer is blazing fast right now. Installs and extracting is far faster than on Vista, its just this one browser issue (which sadly will drive me insane enough to switch back to Vista).

Any one have any ideas?

I know ATI Catalyst's drivers were at one time causing some nasty browser bugs.

My money is on software/driver issue. Personally I stick to SP2 though.
