Y U Do Dis 2 Me, Monitor?

Woke up to this.

The image of the screen show fullscreen MSPaint solid color. As you can see area in the top center of the screen still shows the image, but is darker. Looks as if part of the LEDs on the top trim of the screen is off/malfunctioning/greyed out.

Bought screen refurbished from CC about a month ago, and return policy states 14 days for returns. Not sure if i have any warranty on it, but am on the hunt for the documentation. Screen is an LED Gateway FHX2402L.

Anyone shed some light if this problem is repairable? Are the LED's broken (totally out)? Or stuck on a lower setting somehow?

Does it have local dimming? Did you try unplugging/ replugging your monitor?

Contact Gateway and ask if you have a warranty. You need to send it in.

Have that on my TV/monitor as well. From my research it's pretty much unfixable. And if it was, it would almost certainly be more expensive than buying another monitor. Considering you can buy 22"-24" HD monitors new for $150-200, or on Kijiji for $100 I'm not sure if it's going to be worth dealing with.
