$48 adult (23+) membership if you sign up in 905 areacode YMCA (Sauga, Brampton, Markham)
$53 adult(23+) membership in the 416 area code
Not sure how much it is for Young adults. For family member its cheaper $75 for family of 2adults and up to 4 kids
All YMCA location (Markham, Scarborough, NOrth York) is crowded during prime time (6-9pm)
If you are looking for weights the Markham location is the worst not enough equipments and too crowded. Scarborough and North York is descent for weight.
If you need eye candies to motivate your workout then it's the wrong gym. Goto Xtreme or GoodLife

I like the fact that YMCA does not have contract whereas Good life, you need to sign up for a 1 year contract!!!

I suppose the equipment depends on the gym, but when I used to go at Dundas/Dovercourt it wasn't bad at all. The equipment was pretty well kept and people were pretty good about wiping their sweat off. There are plenty of big guys though, so they will keep you either motivated or embarrassed.

I like this Y a lot, it's my home gym. I like the Y in general, decent enough equipment and the fees are very reasonable. They also have a discounted rate if you are experiencing financial hardship.
This Y is quite packed at peak times because of the kids in the area compounded with the usual gym goers. Oh, this YMCA has the worst possible parking in the history of mankind for a gym or busy community center. Metered parking just isn't reasonable for daily gym visits so I have to take my chances with the residential street parking TPA nazis.LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked belowzeros for this post.
