Hi,
When I was 23, I enrolled at York and left after the first year with 3 courses completed (visual arts major with an elective at Atkinson College).
I'm 32 now and I am thinking of returning to York. Currently, I suffer from progressed ADHD and some SAD (Social Anxiety Disorder).
The two questions I have are:
If I continue my education at York, will I still be able to keep the three courses I completed in my records?
-and-
Can York accommodate my condition(s)? If not, will I be disqualified from re-enrolling or from choosing any specific courses?
Thank you.

Does anyone know if I can take a course that requires pre-requisites in the winter semester, and I will take those said pre-requisites in the Fall before it. Will that work assuming I pass the class in Fall, or do you have to have it fulfilled at the time of selection?!?!

Call the registrar and book an appointment, I think you would get your q's answered much better that way

overall, a good event. have fun and congrats!
Gosh, just finished my ceremony today, but the rain didn't stop

There is a large office of persons dedicated to helping you out:
http://www.yorku.ca/opd/
Mission Statement
The role of the Office for Persons with Disabilities (OPD) is to provide a wide range of high-quality support services in order to meet the needs of students with physical disabilities.
The OPD as a direct provider of postsecondary educational services has a legal responsibility to accommodate persons with disabilities under the Ontario Human Rights Code.
This office has a whole range of services for people.
You should be able to count the courses you took before but you'll need to ask when you re-apply, as indicated above.

I'm hoping someone could assist me with this.
I'm currently in the BA - Business Economics program, but I lost interest in that. I now want to switch to BAS - Accounting.
I faxed in a Change of Major/Degree Change form about a month ago, but received no response.
I'm thinking I don't have enough credits, since I just enrolled for the Winter sem, took and passed 15 credits, which are
ADMS1000 3.0: A
ECON1010 3.0: C+
SOSC1910 6.0: A
ECON1530 3.0: C
...resulting in a 6.60 CGPA
I'm currently taking the following in summer school:
ECON1000 3.0
HUMA1850 6.0
Now, I checked the BAS study plan and first-year for both programs are almost carbon copies. The only course that's not necessary is ECON1530.
Also, my enrolment window is July 10. Is it safe to plan accordingly and enrol in courses that the BAS study plan identifies?
Thanks in advance.

Tomorrow, some time after 8:30 a.m., pick up your phone. Dial York. Ask what happened to your faxed request.

How were the classes for Business Economics? I applied to transfer to Economics so I figure at least some courses will be the same. Was it boring?

If I remember correctly, all "changing programs/majors" forms are processed at the beginning of the next term, depending on when you submit it. In your case, my guess is.. in early September, you will get a response from York.

It's basically the Economics degree with some Accounting and Management courses sprinkled in.
It's not exactly boring, just not my thing.

I've tried for an hour already, kept getting that 'All circuits are currently busy' automated message.

Yeah thats so annoying this is what you have to do. Sit down for 5 minutes and keep hanging up and hitting the redial button over and over and over. You'll eventually get in. At first I would call, get busy, then try an hour later, same thing. I wasted 4 hours of getting busy signals. Hitting redial over and over for 5 minutes straight should help your chances of getting through.

ECON1010, the class average was in the 50s, so I consider myself lucky I got out of the class with a C+. The prof I had was known for making things unnecessarily hard it seems.
ECON1000, easy so far. I don't want to jinx it but I felt I killed the midterm.
The material for both courses are easy enough to understand. The midterm and the final consist of just MC questions.
Advice? The usual. Go to lectures and just study the textbook and do practice questions in the study guide. I was too cheap to buy the study guide when I took ECON1010; I have it for ECON1000 and it helps immensely.

Cool, so i don't need to be a genius in math to pass these two courses
