Yorku: Left over Tuition Credit.
I recieved $955 in tuition credit after dropping a course that originally cost me $1,105. I understand many students will not be returning to York, I being one of them.
Even though I am aware of this...
The Tuition Credit Opportunity is not a refund. It must be used towards future course enrolments and will apply to enrolments for Winter 2009, Summer 2009 or Fall/Winter 2009-2010 courses. If you request a refund, it will not include the portion of the Tuition Credit Opportunity that has not yet been used.
I still asked for a refund cheque, and to my surprise I am getting back $550 out of that $955. (I am conscious of the fact that it could be a mistake, and they can cancel the cheque at any moment.)
Any suggestions on what to do with the remainder of that money? 400 bucks is a lot and I don't want it to go to waste. From what I understand it is only spent on tuition-- so not on enrollment deposits, no ancillary or supplementary fees, no health plan, no York lanes mall stuff.
In other words...my money is doomed... anyone care to share some stories to give me some hope?

I was hoping so, but I doubt it. I will ask student services anyway.

why not take a summer course?
Or take a summer course, use the credit to pay the for the course.
Then drop it for a full or partial refund, and hope you can get it as a cheque.
That way the tuition credit is used up, and you dropping the class could (hopefully) make the money available.
Or contact all the media stations and trash your for keeping your money after they screwed you with the strike. Sick the media on York, and maybe the negative attention will lead to them giving back your money to shut you up._______________
Would you be willing to pay $58 more for an iPod produced in North America?
My Answer: NO. I get the same Ipod with the same functionality...where is the the benefit to me? As, I've said before, I will get more out of my $58 dollars by lighting it on fire, because it will produce heat. If I wipe my a$$ with that $58 dollars, I will need to buy less toilet paper. IF I buy the made in North America Ipod for $58 more, I get absolutely nothing more out of it.
