The good reviews: it's mostly written by the students with the 90's and high marks

The bad reviews: it's mostly written by the students who get bad marks and dont goto class and hate everything about the prof.

So essentially, I dont really trust the comments.

yes, i do use the site.... it does help a lot when i have to decide between teachers.... it is really hard for a person to tell how good a teacher is, and this site does offer a brief glimpe of the prof..... while i know that i can't take everything said on the site as truth, it is the only thing that i can find to help decide between prof...

Those are probably added by the professor being rated, the accuracy of the Hotness rating in my experience falls in the 25% range.

I think ratemyproffesors.com can help to some extent. I checked the ratings of all the teachers I had before classes begin. All reviews were mixed up some said good others said terrible, for the same prof. But for 1 prof i found 7 ratings and almost everyone gave her 1's. So i was definate that she was not a good prof. So ya it can help sometimes.

PS: I still have to go to her class. Couldnt change profs

I looked at the comments of all the profs I ever had (or who I could recall). The reviews are generally fair. Some I disagree with, but the comments were things I heard from the other students with whom I took the course.

I like ratemyprofs, but I didn't use it to choose courses this year as I had limited choice in courses anyways (registered late)

Last year I had a friend who went to the same uni as I did, so she told me about the profs anyways.

So basically I like the site but haven't used it to choose good professors
