Your camera phone sucks. RED is here to fix that.

RED seems to be taking the LG G5 modular route and has some really interesting modular stuff you can do to their US$1200 phone. I've never seen a RED camera in person since I'm not in the business, but the patent and RED's ambition is truly outrageous. 8K full frame in a camera phone with the prestige of RED is quite something. Of course, after adding all those modules, it's no longer a phone, per se.

There are no apostrophes in plurals! "I have 1000 posts" = correct. "I have 1000 post's" = incorrect!
Could've, would've, should've. It's simple English, people!
Voila: French, meaning "There it is!" or "Look!" Viola: A medium-sized stringed instrument Wala: An island of Vanuatu.

The sensor on the phone is not full frame 8K, the modular add-on is 8K! Big difference here :D

According to the patent, EVERY part on the "phone" is swappable and/or added on top, so the monstrosity in their patent diagram doesn't really have much of the original device left.

that's a talllll order
I just want major phone makers to stick a 1" sensor in their flagships
i don't need modular design for mobile devices...how many of those concepts have materialized to good effect?

We come here looking for deals. We use the savings on the things we buy to justify buying more things, thus filling our homes with tons of unnecessary consumer products. Such is the key to happiness.

I don't believe physics allows a 1" sensor in a thin smartphone
