Take it from me as I own a sterlingwear authentic. Anything below -10 you NEED something warmer EVEN with layering. All these guys talking about oh all you need is a peacoat even below -10 is hilarious.

I guess some people don't get cold. I'm can do -10 I can wear my NC cameraman or NC mallory, but that is under a THICK / Chunky sweater, scarf and hat. Anything lower then -10 is when I start busting out the down. But yeah -20 with a peacoat you are a monster...

A peacoat doesn't offer anywhere near as much warmth to weight ratio as a proper down jacket

Wear a peacoat if you care about impressing others, else wear down.

And here I thought people obsessing after fur and logos were the ones trying to compensate. Silly me :)

I love how everybody in RFD boasts about their awesome winter jacket but nobody here ever talks about keeping their legs warm... rofl.

Oh wait I guess everybody have short legs so they don't need to be warm. Sorry.
For some reason my lower body doesn't get really cold.

Even in middle of weather, I just wear jeans/dress pants and I am all good to go.

A peacoat's simply more professional and sophisticated. That's what the poster meant.

Although I'm sure you'll fit right in wearing a down jacket in Nunavut.

I've (and probably many others) seen people wear it in even warmer weathers.

Who cares about sweating... it's all about that CG swag!
