I picked one up already and I'll go back for a price adjustment (there were only 2 left and the sale hadn't even started).

Makes breads, dough (for pizza, cinnamon buns etc) and jams apparently.

I don't think this is nationwide because I went to my local zellers and they had 3. It came up as $89.??. I had two different people scan it to be sure.

It's running here in BC, too. This is a good machine. B & D makes a bigger, fancier model, with two paddles and a 3 pound loaf, but the reviews show that the fancy one is less reliable. I've been planning to buy one of these for Mother's Day and have been watching it for a month waiting for a sale. Snapped it up Saturday for the $50.

FYI Real Canadian Superstore has the same machine advertised for $60 this week, but they've marked it down to the $50 to match Zellers. Thing is, Superstore's policy only allows returns within 14 days, so Zellers makes a better choice in this case.

Any actual users have any experience with these home bread makers? And is the Deluxe model worth the extra?

Sunbeam has always had much higher quality products than the other two - and a longer history of making them. I've never liked B&D products - they're often made of poor materials and break down easily. Hamilton makes pretty good milk shake blenders though

thanks, two reviews had the older model of BD bread maker and they liked the older model much more. Very good to know. Hopefully the one sell by Zellers is the "older" model.

Wow. After reading the reviews on these new B&D machines i'm glad i have one of the old ones from 2002. Been working flawlessly since then. It seems to have none of the flaws that these new ones do.
