I would assume you would be stocking inventory. There's nothing difficult about it.
And since you've already gotten the offer why not go in for one shift and find out?

Zellers over-night shift Q?
Anyone here worked at Zellers store over-night? What is the minimum wage? Is it hard or what is it look like? I did an interview and got the job there but I’m not sure if I really will take it. So any advise

I used to work the night shift at Zellers. The starting pay is $10 a hour, and your typical shift is from 10 30 pm to 7 am. However, the workload depends on your supervisor and how busy the store is. Other then that it is pretty easy just stocking shelves. The real downside is that by 7 am you will be really tired so if you plan on doing anything else in the day your screwed because your gonna want to sleep. I just put a bed sheet on my window and it kinda helped.

holy christ, for that wage to work overnight and risking your health is NOT worth it. you're better off finding a job as a security guard and get paid twice the amount.

Yea, minimum wage is like what, $9/hour now? I was sure they paid a premium for overnight.
I didn't work overnight there, I was on days or evenings, but I knew some people who did the nightshift. All you do is pull skids from the stock room to the floor, then put the stock from the skid onto the shelf. Sometimes they might have you cleaning too, front-facing. That is just pulling all the stock forward to give the illusion that the shelf is actually full when it is not.
Other than that, I doubt there is much. I think you are locked in for the night though to prvent theft, so if you need out before the shift is over for whatever reason, I think you need to ask the supervisor to let you out. They might let everyone out for lunchbreak or whatever, but they check any bags you bring to make sure you aren't stealing.

interesting this thread came up, because earlier on i was thinking about it too.. just not zellers.
so is this why stores seem to have their lights on all night, because theres people inside working? And is it just a couple people? As much as the place is locked, i'd still be a bit creeped out if im one of the few thats inside this large store.

There definitely weren't a ton of people. I don't know an exact number, but probably between 10-15 people total. If you were thinking like, 3 people, it is definitely more than that.

Ok here is a quick feedback after 2 nights
1- there was 6 people in first day and 9 in the second. All take break at the same time 30 minutes*2 and you not allowed to leave the store
2- If you work in the stock room you will load the boxes drive it to the floor area if you work in the floor. your job will be open boxes and stocking shelves, scan and stick tags
3- there was no A.c so I was sweating and tired from the heat and humidity
4- the work involves carrying heavy stuff and standing for hours you'll feel the load on your legs the next day so don't chose it if you 're not well fit and if you go to school or have a morning job think twice before take it, at least try to keep awake all night and see if you can stand it first.
5- they expect you to finish at least 25 box/hour yet it's a minimum wage so really no worth at all. i founf another job at starbucks so i just left
