As the OP that sort of started this chain reaction of my finding of the Zellers deals with the substitution, I'm a bit surprised that the guru of RFD hasn't added their comments. How about it mahjongmaniac? Was this not a goldmine discovery?? I'm glad so many RFDers were able to take advantage of it. Coupon was a bonus thanks to jerryhung.

Saw one demo of Philips HTS-3450(not HTS-3555) in Lansdowne Zellers, Richmond, BC at 11:00, sales guy said he can less 10% from $49.99, go ahead if you guy are interesting !( They have two HTS-3555 in stock, but refuse to sale them at $49.99, maybe you may try again )

This morning I got the only 3555 in Aurora and then drove to Newmarket and got a 3450.




3555 is going to be hooked up to our Pepsi 32" Free Samsung LCD TV

I am moving next weekend into our new home, and it'll be a nice addition

Just cuz I wanted the 3555 instead of the 3450 that I got at Zellers. Best buy would have pricematched.... but zellers didnt have any instock so they couldn't. Grrr. so close.

It looks as though the Zellers on McPhillips has the Phillips in but they will not honour the deal....it is the only one in Winnipeg with stock remaining. Brutal.

I must say Zellers has been overall very good about this.I was able to exchange my RCA RTD258 for a RTD259 which works fine.The RTD258 had playback issues.I don't know about quality but it has more features than the philips HTS-3450 and seem to sound better.

Anyone know the difference between the 2 RCA's other than color ?

thanks op! in the end i got the Phillips HTS 3450/37 from Billings Bridge (ottawa).

spent a while this morning at a different location trying to get them to give me the $299.99 model or even an RCA model that was $269, but they wouldnt budge as the product id's were different than the 3 they had listed on their substitute list. but the manager was nice enough to call around a few stores and have them hold one for me at billings bridge. even got them to apply the $10 off coupon with no hassle. would have really liked the newer version w/ hdmi and upscaling, but hopefully this one will do.
