Thank a lot OP!
I just got the Phillips Ultra DivX Home Theater System for 49.99 + GST
First, the manager denied the printed info from the website because he said that's not an actual URL from zellers website!!! I said to him that if he had a computer that can access the Internet, I could show him how I could get that info from the Zeller online. Then he took the paper and went back to his office; About the 5 mins later, the clerk at the electronics department got the phone call and told me that I could get it for $49.99
I did also have the printed coupon in my pocket, but I didn't want to try. $49.99 for this Phillips is already an amazing deal!!!

Here is the info from www.consumer.philips.com
Some Specs:
** Compression formats: DivX 3.11 , DivX 4.x , DivX 5.x , DivX 6.0 , DivX Ultra , MPEG1 , MPEG2
** Picture enhancement: Progressive Scan , High Def (720p, 1080i) (HDMI)
** Support USB Drives and have a docking station for ipod!!!
I also have the RCA system which just broken yesterday, because its 5 changing discs system is not good. So if you have a choice, I recommend buying the Phillips. The Phillips also has Digital coaxial input, which the RCA and the Panasonic don't have.Last edited by xdigital; Oct 5th, 2007 at 07:45 PM.

I bought the RTD258 there a while ago. It's a piece of crap! Had problems with it playing recorded dvd's, bought a new dvd recorder, it plays discs recorded on the new recorder better but still not great. Get occasional "Bad Disc" messages with purchased dvd's, the sound is very inconsistent and it's just generally a pain to operate and get it to do what you want when you want. Unfortunately I threw out the box or I would return it. I only kept it this long because I thought the problem was with the brand of discs I was using, or the cheap recorder I had. Thought about buying a new one just to see if it was the particular one I got but now they've changed the model slightly so I don't think I could exchange it. Might call RCA and say it doesn't work properly but I don't know how far that will get me.

2 RCA's and 1 philips available at the oakridge zellers.

happy hunting.
when I went, they had a correction notice printed out, telling the CSR that they should go ahead with the adjustment. The correction notice is at the electronic dept's cashier's desk so this is in fact valid. For those who couldn't get it, should purchase it and do the adjustment later. Dunno if this correction is regional.

Bestbuy is selling this Phillips Home Theater System for $319.99
I wonder if I could use the Zeller receipt to PM BestBuy (which is about 2 blocks away)
49.99 - (319.99 - 49.99)*10% = $22.99

Sweet Jesus
This is a totally legit deal.
They even had a print out on the shelf that matches the mouseover copy referenced above.
Thank you, thank you, thank you OP.
Hit the jackpot twice tonight.
p.s. RCA is crap, and has been for a long, long time- go with the Phillips.
p.s. 2 The guy in electronics says he's picking up one as soon as he comes to work in the AM

I got the RCA around 5:00. The Philips model HTS3555 is listed on Zellers website as having a price of $299.99, but the correction notice states "regular 129.99 to 269.99", so I didn't think it would qualify. If I'd have known they were including it for $49.99 too, I'd have bought that instead of the RCA. Oh well, it's still a helluva deal!
Thanks to the OP!!!
