The ad online was capped for $269 so he sold me the Philips HTS3450 system ($269 price) not the 3555 priced at $299. Great deal THANKS.

On a side note....when I returned to get a 3rd one which turned out to be gone by time I got back from the car....the manager was just reaming the electronics clerk out. Yelling at him saying something about "price overrides"....

Scottsdale Zellers has none of the Phillips - had a couple of the RCA units left, when I snagged one at about 8:30pm Friday. The reason there were none of the Phillips units was because someone was at the electronics counter buying it.

Decided to do the 'secret handshake': "RFD?" And received positive response. First time I've done that ever.

After buying my RCA deal, I went down to Surrey Place (arriving 5 mins before closing) to see if they had any of the Phillips units in stock. None left it seems, but they did take my info for later, and I'm happy with that since my preference would definitely be for the Phillips if I can get it. (edit: I think the last RCA unit was purchased by another RFDer while I was there).

Anyway...this is a totally hot deal. Yes, RCA is crap these days, but really...for $50, it has to be hella better than Colby.

I just got the Phillips Ultra DivX Home Theater System for 49.99 + GST
First, the manager denied the printed info from the website because he said that's not an actual URL from zellers website!!! I said to him that if he had a computer that can access the Internet, I could show him how I could get that info from the Zeller online. Then he took the paper and went back to his office; About the 5 mins later, the clerk at the electronics department got the phone call and told me that I could get it for $49.99
I did also have the printed coupon in my pocket, but I didn't want to try. $49.99 for this Phillips is already an amazing deal!!!

I also have the RCA system which just broken yesterday, because its 5 changing discs system is not good. So if you have a choice, I recommend buying the Phillips. The Phillips also has Digital coaxial input, which the RCA and the Panasonic don't have.

Went to Zellers expecting to be all sold out. But they had the Prima, Rca and Phillips left.

The Phillips was 299.99. The clerk called her Manager and said No Problem. The manager already knew about it.

The clerk was told it may be a misprint but they had to honor it. They only had one left of the Phillips.

I used a .79 cents filler and they let me use the $10.00 coupon as well.

This zellers has great staff they never give me a hassle when these deals pop up.


I can scan my receipt if it helps anyone. Total paid with tax in was 47.38.

I think a scan of the receipt would help us all... I'd really like to get the 299.99 one if it's possible...

I got the last rca 1000w on the shelf in Kamloops. The electronics cleck got his superviser and she got the superviser above her. They said give it to him.
I was too chicken to use the $10 off. I felt like a theif and had to get out of the store quickly. Thanks rfd poster.
