Haha, I lucked out. I called all Zellers on day 2 of this sale and the only one that flat out refused in Winnipeg was Northgate, today I stopped buy and saw a HTS3555 in stock on the shelves. I went back with a printout of the online flyer and took the system to the cashier. She called the manager, and he said to give it to me. So I bought it for $49.99, she said there had also been one other person there earlier in the day who took one. There were no other $49.99 systems in stock.

Tried to get the Philips 3555 tonight but was turned down because the older Philips and RCA now scan in at $49, so they've apparently wised up. I still have the RCA259 so I can't complain.

hi i was lucky to get the rca259 today. it was the was one too but i tried the 3555 but no luck so i tried the rca and got it. there is the last demo rca 258 there maybe some can get it the zellers was at dupont and dufferin. i got the philips for 50 and the regular price was 129. its the cd hi-fi cd player with usb port and ipod dock too not bad.

There are several RCA 259 and Philips 3555 left at dupont and dufferin, just came back from there. They were kind enough to exchange my DVD only from the RCA 259 HT system as it burnt down. The guy working there told me they have several other RCA and Philips left at the back. But the manager is not letting those to sell for $49. But another guy told me she is letting some ppl RCA 259 for $49 and its on the list of substitution (???). Confusing !

I bought the RTD258 there a while ago. It's a piece of crap! Had problems with it playing recorded dvd's, bought a new dvd recorder, it plays discs recorded on the new recorder better but still not great. Get occasional "Bad Disc" messages with purchased dvd's, the sound is very inconsistent and it's just generally a pain to operate and get it to do what you want when you want. Unfortunately I threw out the box or I would return it. I only kept it this long because I thought the problem was with the brand of discs I was using, or the cheap recorder I had. Thought about buying a new one just to see if it was the particular one I got but now they've changed the model slightly so I don't think I could exchange it. Might call RCA and say it doesn't work properly but I don't know how far that will get me.

I have this system set up with a Sharp Aquos 46". One of the problems I have with it is every time you play a dvd you have to change the settings (on the RCA) to get it to play properly on the tv.

Exactly why I want to avoid the RCA RTD259. Unless someone knows specifically that it's a really good model I'm betting it's really only worth $50.

I just got the Phillips Ultra DivX Home Theater System for 49.99 + GST
First, the manager denied the printed info from the website because he said that's not an actual URL from zellers website!!! I said to him that if he had a computer that can access the Internet, I could show him how I could get that info from the Zeller online. Then he took the paper and went back to his office; About the 5 mins later, the clerk at the electronics department got the phone call and told me that I could get it for $49.99
I did also have the printed coupon in my pocket, but I didn't want to try. $49.99 for this Phillips is already an amazing deal!!!

I also have the RCA system which just broken yesterday, because its 5 changing discs system is not good. So if you have a choice, I recommend buying the Phillips. The Phillips also has Digital coaxial input, which the RCA and the Panasonic don't have.

There's more than one model titled "Phillips® DivX Ultra DVD Home Theatre System". I don't know how you guys got that model I reserved one for myself downtown in montreal. I just now got back from there and they refused to sell it at $49.99. The clerk was very friendly and showed me a list of all the models at $49.99. She explained that the only ones on special are the systems with a regular price of $169.99-$279.99 but they were all sold out of every model. She showed me a few skus of the working ones and the sku of the HTS3555/37 doesn't match, also the HTS3555/37 is regular price $319.99.

i noticed i went to rca.com to see the reviews about the rtd259 but nothing. only 258 and the newest model rtd 268i model with ipod dock and no 259. i went to google too but nothing. zellers site says the hdmi cable cames with the model too right but nothing 2morrow i will give a call and complain saying why to hdmi cable bc it says in their site.
