you are looking at the wrong item. You should be looking at the Colby 2.1 Theatre System and NOT the Colby 5.1 DVD player

This will be a great replacement for my no-name DVD player + Xbox Spherex 5.1 combo.

Errr.....it's actually a step down in terms of sound quality over the Spherex, and probably picture quality too, it's an RCA.

The system I got was an RCA RTD258 model

The clerk at my local Zellers, brought out 2 models, the RTD258 and the RTD259 (newer, black) I had no problem getting it, at first he thought it was $49.99 less than the sale price and I showed him that it was to be sold for $49.99... then I asked if I could use the coupon, he said no problem, YAY!

My local Zellers had the correction notices all printed out, and tagged in those shelf areas... All of the Coby stuff was being replaced, none of it showed up... mysteriously, though, all the units were either sold out or not available. I saw the sign for the RCA and Phillips system behind the desk, and written on the RCA one was NOT AVAILABLE, but for the hell of it, asked the clerk if they had any in stock, from the shelf SKU, he checked and brought out the 2 different models... THen I showed him the correction notice. Looks like Zellers is taking a page out of Staples guidelines! So, I think the 258 (older) model was supposed to be the one supplemented, but he let me have the 259... the black is nicer than the silver, Also, noted on the box that the 259 (black one) has DIVX as well, the 258 did not. another bonus!

Thanks OP! Picked up the last Philips HTS3555 from Zellers Merivale for $39.99!

All other systems (RCA, other Philips system, and Prima) are OOS at Merivale.

i did had he same story they told me it was 50 dollars off and not actual price. i tried this deal last night around 8:30 pm but it was too late maybe if i tried in the morning when managers didnt knew about the deal yet

Went to Ottawa (merivale) store, the clerk was pretty cool abt it. and didn;t have any problm applying the 10 coupon to bring the price to 39.99

The only system they had was the Philips HTS3555, all the racks where empty.
