Love the cheap plans and amazing customer service. Been with them for over 2 years. Highly recommended!

Their service is second to none. The one thing that actually bugged me about Zoomer was that there is no “beep” after listening to the voicemail greeting. I would literally get a dozen 1-second voicemail messages a week of people hanging up once they’ve realized that it has started recording (and they didn’t want to leave a voicemail for whatever reason). It probably bugs nobody except me though.

I've been with Zoomer for over two years. They have great service. For anyone thinking of joining them and signing up for a two year contract remember and thinking they may want to leave early - the only "penalty" for leaving early is that you have to pay off any remaining device subsidy. Zoomer doesn't have the best phone selection so many of us brought our own devices with us and either sold the phone Zoomer provided (to further reduce our overall costs) or took one of the least expensive phones they offer to make it easier to leave early (should we wish to do so).
I sold the phone that came with the plan and have never looked back - I'm another happy Zoomer customer.

I'd have to agree, they are a pretty good service. However the overage charges are a bit steep at $50 /gb. The plans are also not suited to heavy data users.

Zoomer is yesterday's news. I thought it was a great deal signing up for the $36/2GB deal but after a year into the deal, PM and Koodo had way better deals. Sucked up the cancellation fee and moved to Public Mobile for $38 for 4GB. Not got $40/8GB.

No one provider is for everyone that's for sure. I was fine with Zoomer's $36 / month 2GB plan - now that I have 4GB that's even better. I don't need more and am happy to stick with them because of their service

Exactly I thought 2GB at $36 was good but giving 4GB instead now is amazing esp since Im not willing to eat the cancellation fee

Can you refer someone who’s in the same household? I seem to remember this was mentioned before somewhere.

Zoomer has really good customer service and the pricing is pretty good. Its a shame they only give the referral credits only if the person you recruited signs a 2 year contract. This kind of pissed me off. I get people would abuse it by cancelling/joining but they should just clawback the credits if the other person leaves within a few months or something.
I really appreciate how they don't bounce around and deny ongoing promos and you can ask and they give it to you easily.

I know this from personal experience where I had lost some personal referral credits as people cancel after some time. great rates and excellent company and I am happy to be with them.Paradoxical wrote: ↑ Then idk why they are being cucks and limit the referral only to people who sign the 2 year contract.

It is a pretty significant penalty because the phones are not worth what they're selling them for. At least, that was my experience. $250 for a phone that Rogers/Fido was selling outright for $99 a few months later.
And since you're forced to take a phone (no BYOD) and contract to get the plan (unless that's changed), you're locked in.
In all, I was out over $160 in penalty fees when I wanted to switch to Koodo for the 10GB promo last Christmas (Zoomer offered absolutely nothing to match/compete). I couldn't sell the "free" phone that I never really wanted anyway to make it up.
I don't think getting locked into a 2 year contract is a wise thing right now.
Caveat emptor.

After 6 months on a loyalty plan, the overage will be 2 cents/MB at 1 MB increment. It is better than the big 3 with large increment, you are charged for $7 if you are over even 1 byte.
If you need an extra GB data, you should get the different plan.
Have too many phones... This is how I limit my monthly phone payment.
Public Mobile $34 15GB, $11 250MB, 2x $5 50min/50text, $0 FPL home phone,
Fido $5 4GB plan with a free tablet.

I totally agree. I signed up last year on the $36/2GB plan. I took an LG G4 for $250 which was at least $100 or more above what it really was worth. I sold the phone for $150 to a friend who wanted it and didn't mind using a G4 which left me in the hole $130. I thought no big deal, this will work down with time as long as I stayed. At the time, $36 for 2GB was okay. Fast forwards 4 months into the contract and the Koodo migrations via Public Mobile was happening. I reached out to Zoomer and asked if they could give an upgrade to 3GB and I would stay. They refused to budge. I had to pay off the device balance and then they would give me the plan upgrade provided I take yet another overpriced phone on 24 month contract. I refused and told them that I have a much better plan that is available to me and if I am forced to pay off the tab, I much prefer to pay $4 more per month for 3GB more. I had this discussion with several reps who steadfastly said this is our rules, take it or leave it. So, I paid the penalty and left. Factoring in the referrals I earned in the time I was there plus the money from the sale of the phone, I just broke even.TheImp wrote: ↑ Caveat emptor.

Lesson learned, I will never do this again. Koodo offers referrals as well and without contract. With some fancy footwork, the line that left Zoomer is now on a $35/5GB plan this is discounted to $20 per month for a year with account credits. This does not include referral opportunities which I am trying to capitalize on. I have a hunch that come December, a further betterment of this plan will become available.
